About Me

I’m Nicole L. Gilanians, a litigator working at Shegerian & Associates, Inc., dedicated to standing up for employees whose rights have been violated. I represent individuals across California in matters involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, and wrongful termination. My practice is rooted in California’s employee-protective statutes, including the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the California Labor Code, and related federal laws.

My practice is grounded in one core belief: everyone deserves dignity, fairness, and safety in the workplace. I’ve built my career advocating for workers who’ve been mistreated or silenced—taking on corporations, public entities, and powerful institutions to make sure my clients are heard, respected, and compensated.

At Shegerian & Associates, I have extensive experience litigating—from pre-filing investigation through resolution. Each matter is treated with discretion, strategic insight, and a nuanced understanding of the levers that drive resolution.

Results include:

  • $900,000 in a FEHA case involving race, ethnicity, and national origin discrimination;

  • $750,000 in a retaliation and disability discrimination matter following protected complaints and medical leave;

  • $550,000 in a maternity leave discrimination case involving wrongful termination after CFRA leave;

  • Numerous additional six-figure resolutions in cases involving sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, failure to accommodate, and gender discrimination.

In 2025, I was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an accolade extended to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in California, in recognition of exceptional professional achievement and peer reviews.

I am committed to delivering thoughtful, strategic representation at every stage of the legal process. For those facing difficult workplace challenges, I strive to bring clarity, accountability, and meaningful resolution.

If you’re dealing with an unfair workplace situation—or you just have questions about your rights—I’m here to help.
